1. Basics
Place of Birth: Des Moines, Iowa
Education: Vanderbilt University: Blair School
of Music (Nashville, Tenn.), Bachelor of Music, 2000, Manhattan
School Of Music (NYC), Master of Music, 2002
2. What was the highlight of your One World Symphony
career to date?
Final Callbacks In Town Hall For South Pacific (I kept imagining the
final scene in Town Hall from the Christopher Guest movie "A MightyWind")
3. Which piece are you most looking forward to
performing in One World Symphony's upcoming Town Hall program
on March 2007? And why?
South Pacific -- Nellie Forbush has such a spunk and
wit that's thrilling to a performer! (And, it's the only piece
I'm in.)
4. Which Star Wars character do you most
relate to? And why?
Princess Leia --she's got great buns. That's a statement of admiration. I
can't relate to it, but I wish my hair could do that.
5. If you had to choose, which is your favorite
Hitchcock film? And why?
The Birds -- I love how Tippi Hedren's character wears
the exact same outfit every day over the course of three or four
days. When does that ever happen in Hollywood?
6. If you had to choose, what is your favorite
movie/film? And why?
Waiting For Guffman -- Corky St. Clair.
7. What/Who was your first love?
Christopher Rorke of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School in South Africa. I
think he liked me, too -- also a first.
8. If you could meet anyone dead or alive,
who would it be? And why?
Virginia Woolf -- I'd want to see her writing room, the origination for "A
Room of One's Own." I'd like to hear her laugh. I imagine it was a very
smart, low-pitched one.
9. If you could be any type of animal,
what would it be? And why?
I'm a turtle. I bring "home" with me wherever I go. Also, I'm a
steadfast believer in "slow and steady wins the race."
10. Why would you encourage our audience
members to attend One World Symphony's upcoming Town Hall program
on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 4pm?
It's like rooting for The Little Engine That Could ... "I think I can,
I think I can, I think I can"... watch it go; watch it grow!
11. What is your Star Wars astrological
sign? Also, it's not so much whether or not you believe in Star
Wars signs as much as, do you believe there's truth in them?
Luke Skywalker (Cancer) -- I dig The Force. I can believe.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Star Wars Character: Luke Skywalker
Luke seemed to be somewhat whiny sometimes but he eventually developed the
thick hard shell of a Cancer. He is strong-willed and persistent to get what
he wants. He never shies away from a fight at the first sign of danger. Not
to mention he began to master the element of mind manipulation.
